  • What are the benefits of natural cosmetics?
Natural cosmetics offer a number of significant advantages for skin health. Unlike conventional products, natural cosmetics are not aggressive, which makes them a gentler and more respectful option for our skin. In addition, it has the following benefits: 1.- Strengthening and improvement of dermal functions: The active ingredients present in the plants used in natural cosmetics provide essential nutrients to the skin, strengthening it and improving its functioning. 2.-Supporting skin regeneration and skin care: Natural cosmetics focus on supporting the skin's natural regeneration process, providing it with the nutrients necessary to keep it healthy and radiant. 3.-Stimulation of the skin's own rhythm: Natural cosmetics respect the skin's biological rhythm, allowing it to regain its balance and vitality in a natural way. 4.- Protection against external influences: Natural products contain ingredients that act as a protective barrier, helping the skin to defend itself against external aggressions such as pollution and free radicals.
  • What is the difference between natural and traditional cosmetics?
The main difference between natural and conventional cosmetics lies in the ingredients used. While most conventional cosmetic products contain synthetic ingredients designed to provide texture, feel, scent and care at the lowest possible cost, natural cosmetics are characterised by avoiding the use of filler ingredients for these purposes. Instead, it focuses on effectiveness by incorporating a greater amount of active ingredients in its formulation. Why is it important to opt for natural cosmetics? A: The skin is the largest organ of the body and absorbs everything we apply to it. For this reason, it is essential to opt for natural cosmetic products of the highest possible purity and quality. By choosing natural and organic ingredients, we can ensure that our skin receives the essential nutrients it needs, without exposing it to harmful chemicals found in conventional cosmetics. Natural cosmetics offer a safer and healthier alternative for skin care. Is natural cosmetics effective? A: Yes, natural cosmetics are highly effective. By incorporating a greater amount of active ingredients in its formulation and avoiding filler ingredients, natural cosmetics provide more meaningful and long-lasting results. The natural and organic ingredients used in natural cosmetics contain vitamins, antioxidants and essential nutrients that benefit the health and appearance of the skin.
  • How to identify natural cosmetics?
The best way to see whether or not a product is truly natural is to read the list of ingredients. In the list, the natural ingredients of plant origin are written in Latin, which corresponds to the scientific name of the plants, and the rest of the ingredients are in English (chemical nomenclature), most of which are of synthetic origin. The more ingredients in Latin, the higher the percentage of natural ingredients. Differences between natural and organic cosmetics The first thing is to differentiate between natural cosmetics and organic cosmetics, as many people easily confuse the two terms. Natural cosmetics contain natural products obtained by conventional farming methods. In organic cosmetics, the raw materials are obtained through organic farming, free of pesticides, and following standards of action that protect the environment. The next step is to know when a product is organic and when it is not. In Europe, the easiest way to identify organic products is to look for the organic quality seal on the packaging. When you find it, you will know that you are dealing with a product that you can trust 100%. All ingredients in the formulation of a product that are marked with an asterisk (*) are ingredients from organic farming. In the list of ingredients, these are listed in order from the highest to the lowest percentage they represent in the formula. The labelling must also mention the percentage they represent of the total ingredients and the percentage of ingredients of natural origin. When a product is 100% organic, it is not necessary to have the asterisk in all the ingredients, so what we will find is that the word organic or 100% organic will appear in the name of the product.
  • Should I be wary of packaging descriptions referring to natural active ingredients?
Yes, we should be wary of packaging descriptions that allude to their natural active ingredients. A shampoo or cream with aloe vera, chamomile or green tea does not guarantee that it is natural or organic. Usually the natural active ingredient is a very minor component and the basis of the product is petroleum-based ingredients, colourings, artificial perfumes and synthetic preservatives. It is very common to say that a product is made from plants and then the percentage is limited to a minimum amount accompanied by a lot of chemically synthesised ingredients.
